The Role

• Collaborate closely with the bid team to ensure all requirements are understood and translated into actionable plans.
• Develop high-impact, cost-effective estimates that contribute to winning proposals.
• Support customer and supplier fact-finding activities related to cost estimations.
• Analyze build and support activity durations to identify areas for continuous improvement.
• Track material costs and build times as designs evolve to determine accurate production costs.
• Influence key bid decisions with well-supported estimations and insights.

What You'll Need

• Proven ability to create detailed Manufacturing Build Instructions, SOPs, and tooling/fixturing designs.
• Understanding of design transition to full-scale manufacturing, with a focus on Design for Manufacture (DFM).
• Experience managing complex Bills of Materials (BOMs) using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor).
• Experience in calculating resourcing profiles and ensuring the correct skill mix.
• A relevant engineering qualification or equivalent experience; a CIPS qualification is advantageous.
• Ability to articulate the basis of estimates professionally during bid review processes.
