Manufacturing Engineer – Estimator | Sittingbourne, United Kingdom | On-site | Up to £42,000

The Role
- Collaborate closely with the bid team to understand requirements and translate them into actionable plans for operations and supply chain.
- Develop high-impact, cost-effective estimates that contribute to winning proposals.
- Provide support for customer fact-finding missions and supplier cost base analysis.
- Articulate the content and basis of estimates professionally during bid review and approval processes.
- Analyze build and support activity durations to estimate future targets and drive process improvements.
- Track material costs and build times throughout the design development phase to accurately reflect production costs.
What You'll Need
- Proven ability to create detailed Manufacturing Build Instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Understanding of the design transition from development to full-scale manufacturing, with an emphasis on Design for Manufacture (DFM).
- Experience using systems like SAP, Oracle, or Epicor to manage complex Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Experience in calculating resourcing profiles and ensuring the appropriate skill mix.
- A qualification in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated capability to estimate costs and influence key bid decisions.
