The Role
- Collaborate with bid teams to produce cost-effective and achievable estimates for proposals.
- Understand and translate requirements into operational plans and supply chain needs.
- Support customer and supplier fact-finding exercises related to estimates.
- Influence key bid decisions by providing professional articulation of estimate content.
- Analyse and track build activity durations, material costs, and build times throughout design evolution.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to optimize production costs.
What You'll Need
- Proven ability to develop detailed Manufacturing Build Instructions, SOPs, and tooling designs.
- Understanding of Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles and the transition from development to full-scale manufacturing.
- Experience utilizing ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor) for managing complex Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Experience in calculating resourcing profiles and identifying the necessary skill mix.
- A relevant engineering qualification or equivalent experience, with CIPS qualification considered an advantage.
- Experience in coordinating inputs from operations and supply chain teams.
