Job Description

Manufacturing Engineer – Estimator | Snodland, United Kingdom | On-site | Up to £42,000

The Role

  • Collaborate with bid teams to produce cost-effective and achievable estimates for proposals.
  • Understand and translate requirements into operational plans and supply chain needs.
  • Support customer and supplier fact-finding exercises related to estimates.
  • Influence key bid decisions by providing professional articulation of estimate content.
  • Analyse and track build activity durations, material costs, and build times throughout design evolution.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to optimize production costs.

What You'll Need

  • Proven ability to develop detailed Manufacturing Build Instructions, SOPs, and tooling designs.
  • Understanding of Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles and the transition from development to full-scale manufacturing.
  • Experience utilizing ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor) for managing complex Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Experience in calculating resourcing profiles and identifying the necessary skill mix.
  • A relevant engineering qualification or equivalent experience, with CIPS qualification considered an advantage.
  • Experience in coordinating inputs from operations and supply chain teams.
