Manufacturing Engineer – Estimator | Maidstone, United Kingdom | On-site | Up to £42,000 per year

The Role
- Collaborate closely with the bid team to understand requirements and ensure they are effectively communicated to operations and supply chain teams.
- Develop high-impact, cost-effective estimates to support winning proposals.
- Support customer and supplier fact-finding activities related to cost estimates.
- Review and analyse build times and support activity durations to estimate future targets and drive process improvements.
- Track material costs and build times throughout the development phase to accurately determine production costs.
- Influence key bid decisions by providing accurate and well-reasoned cost estimations.
What You'll Need
- Proven ability to create detailed Manufacturing Build Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and tooling/fixturing designs.
- Solid understanding of transitioning designs from development to full-scale manufacturing, with a focus on Design for Manufacture (DFM).
- Experience using systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Epicor for managing complex Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Proficiency in calculating resourcing profiles to ensure the appropriate skill mix for manufacturing operations.
- A relevant engineering qualification or equivalent experience, with a CIPS qualification being advantageous.
