Quality Assurance Engineer

• Analyze business requirements and technical designs for testability and traceability.
• Participate in test planning, estimating, and scheduling. Develop test plans covering functional, system integration, and regression testing.
• Design both manual and automated test cases and scripts.
• Utilize appropriate tools for the development and execution of manual and automated test cases and scripts.
• Diagnose, document, help troubleshoot, and isolate bugs and issues encountered during testing
• Must be able to plan, organize and direct automation activities to achieve maximum operational efficiency in meeting department and company, goals, and objectives
• Experienced in developing test strategies and planning approaches for manual and automated testing
• Ability to map requirements to test cases
• Skilled at examination and analysis of typical business workflow scenarios
• Ability to analyze complex applications and develop test cases
• Ability to create and execute automated test scripts and report on test execution status
• Ability to read use cases and evaluate business and technical requirements
• Strong project management skills and/or substantial exposure to projectbased work structures
• Detail-oriented, deliverable focused
• Possesses an active, 'hands-on' style
• Experienced in writing software defect reports
• The ability to communicate on a technical as well as a non-technical level
• The ability to understand applications from a technical and business perspective
• Ability to make sound decisions based on business, technology, and QA guidelines
• Experience/knowledge of the Mortgage Servicing and/or prior banking experience a plus
• Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies
• Experience building an automation program is preferred
• Experience with working on applications built in a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
• Understanding of SQL DB and ability to run SQL queries
