The Role
- Fabricate and install pipework systems using a variety of materials including copper, cuni, carbon steel, and stainless steel.
- Utilize hand tools and mechanical equipment for cutting, bending, and welding pipes, as well as for installation.
- Install essential utilities such as sinks, showers, and toilets aboard vessels.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, pipework diagrams, and technical specifications for accurate installation and assembly of fittings, valves, and related components.
- Collaborate effectively with other trades to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company procedures, maintaining accurate work records.
What You'll Need
- A Modern Apprenticeship or Trade Papers (SVQ3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in pipe manufacture and installation, including proficiency with relevant tools and equipment on major projects.
- Strong knowledge of pipefitting methods, safe working practices, and trade-standard techniques.
- The ability to read and work from engineering drawings, pipework diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Understanding and application of SHE, COSHH, and risk assessment requirements.
- Previous experience as a Pipefitter or in a similar trade within an industrial or commercial setting.
