Job Summary

We are seeking experienced Senior Hardware Design Engineers to design and develop high-performance networking hardware for next-generation Ethernet and AI networking systems. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in complex hardware design, high-speed digital systems, PCB design, signal/power integrity, and taking products from concept through production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design high-power, high-density Ethernet switching hardware for AI and networking applications.
  • Author functional specifications and perform component selection and qualification.
  • Develop complex flat and hierarchical schematics.
  • Work closely with eCAD/CAD teams on PCB layout, routing, and component footprints.
  • Define PCB stackups and fabrication requirements with PCB vendors.
  • Perform or coordinate signal integrity and power integrity analysis for high-speed datapath and power signals.
  • Support prototype bring-up, lab validation, troubleshooting, and system debugging.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware, software, test, manufacturing, and systems teams.
  • Work with domestic and international Contract Manufacturers from prototype through mass production.
  • Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM), manufacturing yield, and product quality.
  • Guide and mentor junior hardware engineers.
Required Qualifications
  • BSEE or MSEE or equivalent technical degree.
  • 10+ years of relevant hardware engineering experience.
  • Strong experience designing networking hardware, particularly 100G/200G PAM4 Ethernet switching.
  • Experience designing 20+ layer PCBs with 50G+ high-speed signals.
  • Hands-on experience with HDI, sequential lamination, and ultra-low-loss PCB materials.
  • Experience with multi-phase DC/DC power designs supporting high-current and high-transient loads.
  • Strong experience with high-speed interfaces such as DDR and PCIe.
  • Experience with complex schematic capture, component selection, and board-level hardware design.
  • Strong understanding of Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) concepts.
  • Experience with impedance, PDNs, differential routing, insertion loss, S-parameters, TDR, and VNA.
  • Experience with DFM and mass-production hardware development.
  • Experience working with Contract Manufacturers and PCB vendors.
  • Strong hands-on experience with hardware bring-up and system-level debugging.
  • Proven ability to take products from concept through production.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with embedded x86/ARM system design.
  • FPGA design and Verilog experience.
  • Experience with system-level simulation and validation.
  • Experience working on high-performance Ethernet, switching, data center, or AI networking platforms.
  • Experience leading technical teams or mentoring engineers.
Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands-on senior hardware engineer who can own the complete hardware development lifecycle, from architecture and component selection through schematic design, PCB layout, SI/PI validation, prototype bring-up, debugging, manufacturing, and production.

Must be willing to work 100% onsite in Santa Clara, CA or Roseville, CA.
