Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Product Owner with a strong Finance background to drive product strategy, define business requirements, and manage product backlogs for finance-related applications and systems. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of financial processes, experience working with cross-functional teams, and the ability to translate business needs into actionable product requirements.

The Product Owner will collaborate with finance stakeholders, business analysts, developers, QA teams, and other technical partners to deliver solutions that improve financial operations, reporting, and business efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

➤ Define and communicate product vision, goals, and priorities aligned with business and finance objectives.

➤ Own and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring requirements are clearly documented and aligned with business needs.

➤ Gather, analyze, and translate finance-related business requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria.

➤ Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Treasury, FP&A, and other business stakeholders to identify process improvements and product opportunities.

➤ Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and other Agile ceremonies.

➤ Work closely with development and QA teams to ensure solutions meet business requirements and quality standards.

➤ Manage stakeholder expectations, resolve requirement conflicts, and communicate product progress and delivery timelines.

➤ Support financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, reconciliation, and other finance-related workflows, depending on business needs.

➤ Define product success metrics, monitor performance, and recommend enhancements based on business feedback and data analysis.

➤ Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), validate deliverables, and obtain stakeholder sign-off.

➤ Identify risks, dependencies, and potential roadblocks affecting product delivery.

➤ Ensure product requirements align with applicable financial controls, compliance requirements, and data governance standards.

Required Qualifications

➤ Proven experience as a Product Owner, Business Product Owner, or in a similar product management role.

➤ Strong finance domain experience in areas such as Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, payments, or reconciliations.

➤ Experience writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and managing product backlogs.

➤ Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.

➤ Experience working with cross-functional business and technology teams.

➤ Excellent stakeholder management, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

➤ Ability to translate complex finance requirements into clear functional specifications.

➤ Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar product management platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

➤ Experience with financial systems, ERP platforms, or finance transformation initiatives.

➤ Exposure to Oracle Financials, SAP Finance, Workday Financial Management, or similar enterprise applications.

➤ Familiarity with financial data, dashboards, reporting tools, and business intelligence platforms.

➤ Experience supporting UAT, release planning, and end-to-end product delivery.

➤ Relevant certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO), or equivalent.
