Job Description

TSG - The Sheridan Group seeks a Press Coordinator to support strategic communications and public affairs campaigns for corporate, nonprofit, and association clients. In this role, you will draft press materials, pitch reporters, monitor media coverage, and manage press lists to help clients shape policy debates and navigate reputational issues. Working closely with senior strategists in a collaborative, high-performance environment, you'll assist with rapid response, event support, briefing materials, and social content, gaining broad exposure to advocacy, politics, and integrated communications.

Responsibilities

  • Draft press releases, media advisories, op-eds, and talking points for client campaigns.
  • Pitch reporters and producers to secure coverage across print, digital, and broadcast outlets.
  • Build, update, and segment targeted media lists for priority issues and campaigns.
  • Monitor traditional and social media, compile daily clips, and track campaign impact.
  • Support rapid response efforts, including drafting statements and reactive pitches on tight deadlines.
  • Prepare briefing books and background materials for client spokespeople and senior leaders.
  • Coordinate logistics and press support for events, briefings, and announcements.
  • Assist in developing social media content aligned with campaign messaging and policy goals.
  • Collaborate closely with senior strategists and account teams to execute integrated communications plans.
  • Maintain organized documentation, timelines, and status reports across multiple concurrent projects.
