Job Description

Job Title: Clinical Data Platform Product Owner (AWS / HL7 / AI)
Role Overview
Own the roadmap and lifecycle of our clinical data platform built natively on AWS. The platform ingests and parses full HL7 standards (HL7 v2, CDA/CCDA, FHIR) and applies embedded AI/ML models for data quality, normalization, and advanced analytics. You will translate clinical/business needs into platform capabilities, ensure seamless interoperability, and drive adoption across internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define and prioritize the platform roadmap spanning AWS-native services, HL7 parsing layers, AI components, and downstream consumption use cases.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Gather requirements from clinicians, data scientists, engineers, and compliance teams; convert them into well-groomed product backlogs.
  • Clinical Data Interoperability: Champion support for HL7 v2 messages, CDA/CCDA documents, and FHIR APIs; guide interface mappings, terminology alignments (LOINC, SNOMED, RxNorm, ICD), and validation rules.
  • AI Enablement: Collaborate with data science teams to productize ML models (e.g., anomaly detection, entity matching, predictive insights); ensure responsible AI governance, monitoring, and feedback loops.
  • AWS Platform Ownership: Oversee deployment patterns leveraging services such as Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, Glue, Redshift, DynamoDB, API Gateway, SageMaker, and Step Functions.
  • Operational Excellence: Partner with Site Reliability/Support teams to meet SLAs, data latency targets, and compliance requirements (HIPAA, SOC 2).
  • Release & Adoption: Drive agile ceremonies, release planning, and user enablement. Produce clear documentation, demos, and success metrics to measure platform impact.
  • Data Governance: Ensure lineage tracking, metadata management, and auditing are integrated into product plans.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years in product ownership/management, with at least 3 years in healthcare data platforms or interoperability products.
  • Deep understanding of HL7 standards (v2 messaging, CDA/CCDA, FHIR) and clinical vocabularies.
  • Proven experience with AWS-native architectures, data pipelines, and serverless/container-based services.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in backlog tools (Jira/Azure DevOps), product analytics, and KPI definition.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills in cross-functional, regulated environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Familiarity with AI/ML lifecycle (model development, validation, monitoring) and ability to articulate value to non-technical stakeholders
  2. Background in clinical informatics, HIT product development, or digital health startups.
  3. Hands-on experience integrating HL7 interfaces via Mirth, Cloverleaf, or similar engines.
  4. Knowledge of data governance frameworks, privacy regulations, and audit-readiness practices.
  5. Exposure to Snowflake, Databricks, or Lakehouse architectures for secondary analytics.
  6. Certification(s) such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Product Owner, or HL7 certification.
