Job Description

Position: Senior Workday Functional Architect

Location: Menlo Park, CA (Onsite)

Project Type: Contract

Workday modules (Core HCM, Absence and Time tracking, Payroll)

We are looking for candidates with 13+ years of experience, preferably with Workday Architect experience.

Candidates with leadership experience will also be considered.

Strong expertise in at least two Workday modules is required; moderate experience in one additional module is acceptable.

Responsibilities:

  • Configurations: Configure Workday modules (Core HCM, Absence and Time tracking, Payroll) to align with client workflows.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Workday Drive, Workday Docs, letter templates, Questionnaire, Survey, Reference Letters etc.
  • Advanced hand-on process with Hire, Onboarding, Change Job, and Termination business processes. Should have worked on Notification and Alerts configuration.
  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using Workday reporting tools (Advanced, Matrix, Composite reports).
  • Manage and maintain Workday security framework (roles, domains, business process security policies).

Workday Functional Skill Matrix:

  • If we have a candidate who is 'Expert' in "Time and Absence" module but has scored 'Moderate' in "Core HCM" module, we should evaluate them.
  • If we have a candidate who is 'Expert' in "Payroll" module but has scored 'Moderate' in "Core HCM" module, we should evaluate them.
  • We might get candidate who is 'Expert' in "Time and Absence" and "Payroll" but have moderate configuration experience in "Core HCM". We might evaluate them as well.
  • It is difficult to find candidate who is 'Expert' in all 3 modules "Core HCM", "Time and Absence" and "Payroll", as these are vast.

Key requirements:

  • Candidates for the architect/functional roles should understand technology at an L1/L1.5 level, not just business/functional analysis.
  • They should be able to participate in discussions around:
  • Ticket failures
  • Integration failures
  • Root-cause analysis
  • Technical aspects of integrations
  • For Meta-related integration work, the expectation is project-specific knowledge, so vendors should avoid submitting candidates who only broadly match “integration.”
