ETRM Technical Analyst
Location: Houston, Texas (On-site)
Role Overview
This organization is seeking a skilled Technical Analyst to support enhancements and platform extensions for our Energy Trading and Risk Management application, specifically focusing on Gas and Power commodities. The selected candidate will configure and extend the ETRM platform to enable efficient front-to-back trading workflows across deal capture, scheduling, risk, and settlements. This role requires collaboration with key stakeholders to align technical solutions with evolving business needs.
Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ETRM system solutions supporting global power and gas trading and commercial workflows.
• Configure the ETRM platform to support deal capture, contract management, scheduling, and settlements.
• Translate power and gas trading and operational requirements into technical solutions, ensuring alignment with front-to-back workflows.
• Partner with traders, schedulers, risk, and operations teams to improve system usability, gather requirements, and communicate system changes.
• Support system upgrades, enhancements, and platform optimization initiatives through rigorous testing and coordination.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable fixes.
• Collaborate with business units to drive data strategy, data management, and data reporting to foster a culture of data-driven decision-making.
• Develop custom scripts and integrations to enhance system functionality and support evolving business requirements.
• Ensure data integrity, system performance, and reliability across the trading platform.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for system configurations, integrations, and development standards.

Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
Experience: Five or more years of experience working with ETRM platforms, specifically utilizing TriplePoint applications within Gas and Power commodities trading environments.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of the physical power and gas trading lifecycle, including deal capture, scheduling, nominations, invoicing, and settlements, alongside experience supporting production environments and managing application lifecycle processes.
Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with risk management, valuation, and PnL processes within ETRM systems.
• Intermediate proficiency in .NET or Excel/VBA.
• Experience writing SQL queries, procedures, and packages.
