Job Description

We are looking for Database Data Analyst for our client in Frankfort, KY

Job Title: Database Data Analyst

Job Location: Frankfort, KY

Job Type: Contract

Pay Range: $28hr - $32hr

Job Overview:

This position supports enterprise-level data management services, including the statewide Student Information System. The analyst performs advanced analytical and technical work, including internal and external system data requests as well as federal and state reporting.

Description:

  • Lead requirements gathering for complex education data reporting from the statewide student information system to meet agency reporting needs, analyzing and prioritizing requirements to ensure alignment with standards, strategic goals, and stakeholder priorities.
  • Perform systems analysis and technical solution design to define solutions that meet stakeholder needs, document functional requirements, and coordinate with data stewards and system users to define reporting and system needs.
  • Design, develop, and validate complex SQL-based data extraction processes from enterprise student information systems to support statewide reporting and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Test extract output and data quality for information loaded into systems, using SQL database query and other database tools to compare datasets and evaluate data integrity.
  • Analyze database structures, integration processes, and system interfaces to identify root causes of data integrity issues and implement technical solutions, communicating with system users about concerns, identifying causes, and recommending solutions.
  • Define reporting needs, establish a reporting calendar, and maintain up-to-date documentation on SharePoint that supports data reporting, extract development, and quality assurance processes.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, being proactive and taking initiative on assigned tasks through completion to meet quality and timeliness expectations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of maximizing data quality and use.

Required Experience/Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor s degree in computer science, mathematics, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience demonstrating the ability to perform SQL/database query work and data reporting responsibilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with requirements gathering and documentation of functional requirements.
  • Experience testing data extracts to help ensure quality of data and consistency in reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft O365 tools including SQL and data visualization platforms.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
