Azure Infrastructure Engineer (6-Month Fixed-Term Contract)
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a global reinsurance organisation as an Azure Infrastructure Engineer. As the business continues to expand, you'll play a key role in designing, building, and supporting secure, scalable Azure cloud infrastructure that underpins its global technology strategy.
This role is ideal for someone with strong Azure networking expertise, a passion for infrastructure automation, and experience delivering enterprise-scale cloud solutions.
Key Responsibilities of the Azure Infrastructure Engineer:
- Design, build, and maintain secure, resilient Azure cloud infrastructure.
- Configure and manage Azure networking services, including VNets, routing, Firewalls, load balancers, private endpoints, and API Gateways.
- Automate infrastructure deployments using Terraform, Azure DevOps, and Git-based CI/CD pipelines.
- Troubleshoot complex networking and connectivity issues across Azure IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid environments.
- Implement Azure security, governance, and compliance best practices.
- Monitor, optimise, and support cloud platforms to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance.
- Work closely with architects, developers, and security teams, producing technical documentation and low-level designs.
Essential Skills & Experience of the Azure Infrastructure Engineer:
- Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale Azure infrastructure.
- Strong expertise in Azure networking, including VNets, routing, Firewalls, private endpoints, and load balancing.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform, and Azure DevOps pipelines.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across Azure networking and cloud connectivity.
- Experience implementing and managing API Gateways.
- Solid understanding of Azure security, governance, and compliance.
- Scripting experience using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
Salary: £60,000 - £72,000 per annum
Location: London EC3A, 3 days per week in the office,
Contract Duration: 6 months
Start Date: ASAP, up to 4 weeks notice
