Principal Engineer – Electrical Engineering (Power) | Grange-over-Sands, United Kingdom | Hybrid | Up to £57,500 This employer is a leading global defence, aerospace, and security company renowned for its innovative solutions and commitment to technological advancement. They are seeking a talented Principal Engineer to join their esteemed electrical engineering team, contributing to high-impact projects. The Role • Develop design solutions to meet project milestones on time, within budget, and to required quality standards. • Manage and define system or product-specific requirements and acceptance criteria, potentially across complex systems. • Produce comprehensive design documentation, including diagrams, technical specifications, and supporting calculations. • Provide technical support for integrated performance and acceptance activities, from supplier equipment to final customer acceptance. • Contribute to estimate development for scope of work and resource allocation for bid and project planning. • Articulate complex technical arguments clearly and logically for design reviews and certification processes. What You'll Need • BEng (Hons) / MEng degree or equivalent qualification. • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or ability to meet the requirements for CEng. • Demonstrable experience within the engineering lifecycle. • In-depth understanding of AC and DC electrical power systems, including one or more of: Power system modelling, generators, switchgear, protection, or power electronics. • Strong knowledge of Power System Architecture, Power Generation and Distribution, Protection and Co-ordination, or Power Earth Fault Monitoring. • Experience working to industry codes and standards within a relevant engineering role.
