About the Role
Our client is a Fortune 50 national retailer with thousands of store locations across the country. Their corporate real estate and construction team leads a high volume of retail construction initiatives — including new store builds, remodels, renovations, and multi-site rollout programs — that directly shape the guest experience in stores nationwide.
We are partnering with this client to identify a Senior Construction Project Manager who can step into a fast-paced, high-visibility environment and manage multiple concurrent retail construction projects from initiation through closeout. This is a hybrid contract opportunity with one required onsite day per week (Tuesday or Wednesday) at the client''s corporate campus.

Job Description
The Senior Construction Project Manager is responsible for managing the planning and execution of retail construction projects from initiation through closeout. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with established quality and safety standards. The Project Manager partners with internal stakeholders, architects, engineers, general contractors, and field teams to coordinate all phases of project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage multiple retail construction projects concurrently, ensuring adherence to approved scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate project plans, schedules, budgets, and key milestones.
  • Coordinate project activities with architects, engineers, general contractors, vendors, and cross-functional business partners.
  • Review contractor bids, proposals, and pricing to support project award recommendations.
  • Administer construction contracts, including change orders, payment applications, and project closeout documentation.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and proactively resolve schedule, budget, and execution issues.
  • Lead recurring project status meetings and provide clear updates to project stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with company construction standards, safety requirements, and applicable building codes.
  • Track project financial performance, forecasts, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Travel to project sites as required (up to 25%).
The ideal contractor is an execution-focused construction professional with experience delivering multiple commercial or retail projects in fast-paced environments. They are comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and driving projects to successful completion with minimal oversight.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of commercial or retail construction project management experience.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple concurrent construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.

  • Proven ability to coordinate architects, engineers, contractors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent organizational, documentation, and project tracking abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor''s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience managing retail remodels, renovations, rollouts, or ground-up construction projects.
  • Experience supporting large-scale, multi-site construction programs within a corporate environment.
