Position: IT Project Manager

Location: Remote (EST & CST)

Duration: 6+ Months

Travel: 25% (Quarterly to Europe or India)

Position Overview:
Active Directory Migration
The IT project manager will serve as the project manager for IT supported initiatives at Varian, a Siemens Healthineers company. As a PM, you will be responsible for the successful execution of projects, from project initiation through final closeout. The ideal candidate would be expected to be resourceful, and a self-starter. You will work in a matrix style organization requiring excellent coordination skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • You will lead a portfolio of IT initiatives aimed at transforming and raising performance level of Varian business lines, business functions, and regions
  • You will team up with technical and business teams to deliver initiatives for integrated and intelligent value chain management
  • You will organize inter-disciplinary teams (business & IT) to be able to manage complex business and technical risks
  • You will support multi-functional teams of business experts in identifying and solving complex data and system dependencies

Responsibilities:

  • Direct all phases of projects from inception through completion
  • Work closely with project sponsor and cross-functional teams to develop the scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for new initiatives
  • The project manager will also collaborate with other members of the PMO team to implement tools and processes to enable a high functioning, high impact, analytically driven IT organization
  • Responsible for the cost, schedule, quality, and technical performance of the assigned project(s)
  • Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  • Lead and drive multi-disciplinary and cross functional teams, including engineering, operations, vendor management, logistics and services to ensure successful project execution
  • Provide regular updates to team, management, and PMO on work performed, plans, budget, and overall status
  • Identify project problems and obtain solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications
  • Work with other program managers to identify risks and opportunities across multiple projects within the department
  • Analyze, evaluate, and overcome program risks, and produce program reports for managers and stakeholders
