Job title: Interior Structures Engineer (Aircraft Interiors Stress)
Location: North Charleston, SC (100% Onsite)
duration: 6 months Contract-to-Hire
We're supporting a growing aerospace engineering team that is looking for experienced Interior Structures Engineers to support aircraft interior design, analysis, certification, and production efforts.
What You'll Be Doing
- Perform structural and stress analysis on aircraft interior components and assemblies
- Evaluate designs for structural integrity, safety, compliance, and certification requirements
- Support aircraft design, manufacturing, testing, and production activities
- Develop and review analysis using hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Create and support certification documentation and structural substantiation
- Partner with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams to resolve technical issues
- Support structural testing, validation, and failure investigations
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership when needed
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, Civil, or related Engineering field
- 5+ years of structural or stress analysis experience
- Aerospace, aviation, or complex mechanical systems experience
- Experience supporting aircraft structures, interiors, or related products
- Strong understanding of structural analysis methodologies and FEA
Preferred Experience
- Aircraft interiors experience (seats, galleys, lavatories, stow bins, IFE systems, cabin systems, etc.)
- Certification and compliance experience
- Supplier technical oversight experience
- Structural testing and validation experience
- DER, AR, or EUM experience is highly desirable
