Insurance Coverage Attorney

About the Role

Join a boutique legal team advising institutional policyholders on complex insurance coverage matters. You will manage your own caseload and handle both coverage analysis and litigation for corporate clients, including technology companies.

What You'll Do

• Analyze commercial insurance policies, including general liability, D&O, E&O, cyber, and property coverage, and advise clients on coverage positions.

• Manage client relationships and develop coverage strategies, tender decisions, and policy procurement considerations.

• Handle coverage disputes in California state and federal courts, including depositions, motions, and court filings.

• Own matters from intake through resolution and draft coverage opinions, reservation of rights responses, and demand letters.

What We're Looking For

• One to four years of civil litigation experience, including experience with depositions, motions, and court filings.

• Active California bar admission and a JD from an accredited law school.

• Strong legal writing, analytical, and insurance coverage analysis skills.

• Experience managing matters independently and working directly with sophisticated institutional or corporate clients.

• Insurance coverage litigation experience is valued, especially policyholder-side experience; defense-side experience is also relevant.

• Familiarity with coverage for cyber, D&O, and E&O policies is a plus.

• Working knowledge of Westlaw, LexisNexis, and Microsoft Office.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $160,000 to $200,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

On-site in San Francisco, California, with some day-to-day flexibility.
