About the Role

A Denver-based legal practice is seeking a commercial litigation attorney to manage complex matters from inception through resolution. You will handle a broad range of middle-market business disputes and contribute to a growing litigation practice.

What You'll Do

  • Manage commercial disputes from initial filing through resolution, including trial and arbitration.

  • Handle breach of contract, breach of warranty, mechanic's lien, bond claim, and business tort matters.

  • Develop and execute litigation strategies in state and federal courts.

  • Draft pleadings, substantive motions, briefs, and other legal documents, and argue dispositive motions.

  • Lead written discovery and take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, corporate representatives, and experts.

  • Prepare for and participate in hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, arbitrations, and trials.

What We're Looking For

  • Six to ten years of progressive commercial litigation experience, including independently managing complex matters end to end.

  • Trial or arbitration experience, with the ability to discuss results in concrete detail.

  • Colorado bar admission, or admission expected within approximately one month.

  • Experience with breach of contract and business tort disputes, motion practice, and taking and defending depositions.

  • Graduation from an accredited U.S. law school and a law school GPA of at least 3.0.

  • Construction or defects litigation experience and familiarity with mechanic's lien or bond claims are helpful.

  • Experience in a boutique or small-to-midsize law firm and a stable employment history are preferred. A portable book of business is not required.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary is $250,000 to $300,000 annually, with merit-based pay. The role includes an hours bonus for billable work above the 1,900-hour target, in 25-hour increments through 2,300 hours, and fee origination credit under the firm's applicable program. Visa sponsorship is not available; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
