Job Description
Our customer is seeking two Infrastructure Engineers to join their IT Infrastructure team on a 3-month renewable contract. These engineers will provide hands-on support for break/fix activities, vulnerability remediation, general infrastructure maintenance, and service desk operations while the internal team focuses on ongoing projects. This is a fully remote position.
Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day break/fix support across servers, networks, storage, and web server environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, OS, application, and web server issues in hybrid environments (on-prem and cloud).
- Support vulnerability remediation efforts, including patching, configuration updates, and security hardening.
- Monitor system performance and availability to maintain uptime and reliability standards.
- Provide service desk support, including ticket triage, escalation, and user communication.
- Collaborate with internal IT teams to document issues, resolutions, and process improvements.
- Provide support for Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Assist with networking tasks such as switch configuration, connectivity troubleshooting, and firewall rule updates.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry best practices.
- Support MS 365 administration, Azure Virtual Desktop, device imaging, Intune management, and Azure administration.
- Utilize low-code/no-code platforms for process automation and workflow improvements.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure or Systems Engineering roles.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, VMware/Hyper-V, web servers.
- Experience with vulnerability management and patching tools (e.g., Qualys, Nessus, WSUS, SCCM).
- Familiarity with network fundamentals (Cisco or equivalent experience preferred).
- Service desk or end-user support experience is a plus.
- Understanding of security and compliance requirements in financial or regulated environments is a plus.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, remote environment.
- Experience with MS 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, Intune, and device imaging.
- Exposure to low-code/no-code platforms for automation is preferred.
Preferred Certifications (a plus):
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server or Azure Administrator
- CompTIA Security+
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
- Cisco CCNA
- Experience with Azure no-code / low-code platforms, automation frameworks, or GlobalScape solutions
