We are actively hiring a Data Scientist with TS/SCI w/ Poly to join our team working in Chantilly, VA.

You will use your coding skills and Tableau expertise to turn unstructured data into actionable insights that support decisions about production, resources, and personnel. You will build statistical and AI/ML models, share findings through reports, visualizations, and briefings, and apply data-driven methods to national security problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess the efficiency and accuracy of new data sources.
  • Preprocess and clean structured and unstructured data.
  • Analyze large amounts of raw data to provide insights.
  • Create, modify, and improve statistical and AI/ML models.
  • Document and communicate methods and findings using the customer's formats and templates. This may include co-authoring analytic publications, producing ad-hoc reports, creating data visualizations or interactives, developing applications and user interfaces, delivering presentations or briefings, and documenting methods in GitHub.
  • Research and apply new quantitative and qualitative methods to strengthen the customer's existing analytic approaches and communicate findings to wider audiences.
  • Brief consumers on how data-driven analysis and analytic methods apply to specific national security problems.
  • Respond to approved ad-hoc requests for tailored, complex data-driven analysis, including preparing cables, memoranda, emails, and graphics.
  • Provide technical education to staff on an ad-hoc basis.

Required Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field, 5 plus years of relevant experience. Additional years of experience may be accepted in place of a degree.
  • Demonstrated professional experience with SQL, including common table expressions, set operations, aggregate functions, and nested subqueries.
  • Experience with DBeaver, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
  • Proficiency in Python or R, including libraries for data analysis, data processing, statistical modeling, AI/ML, and visualization.
  • Experience performing time-series analysis on internal or external data.
  • Experience creating and customizing customer-facing graphics in Tableau.
  • Experience with version control systems such as GitHub.
  • Experience with cloud services from major providers, working with APIs, and using high-performance computing resources.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Tableau Prep.
  • Experience using Splunk, including automated processes.
  • Experience with the customer's enterprise services, security controls, and data management practices.
  • Prior experience supporting the Intelligence Community.
