OVERVIEW
Every new Veeco employee's first experience of the company runs through this role. As Veeco grows its North American workforce, the Human Resources Coordinator is the person who makes sure each new hire arrives to a seamless start — paperwork done, systems set up, equipment ready, and nothing falling through the cracks.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Human Resources, you will own the administrative backbone of onboarding and HR operations, working shoulder to shoulder with the recruiting team and HR Business Partners. When you do this well, hiring managers stay focused on their teams, new hires feel welcomed from day one, and Veeco's people data stays clean and trustworthy. This role is hybrid, based within commutable distance of Veeco's Plainview, NY office. This is a temporary role for at least 6 months. RESPONSIBILITIES
Own onboarding for every new hire
— coordinate plans with hiring managers, arrange equipment, and make sure each person is ready to start on day one. Own and manage the temporary workforce process
end to end — coordinating with staffing agencies and hiring managers to bring temporary workers on board, keep their records current, and manage the process through to conversion or completion. Keep Veeco's people data accurate and trustworthy
by processing HR and employee information in SuccessFactors and SAP and maintaining data integrity across systems, including E-Verify and Weichert relocation.
Process E-Verify and I-9 forms
accurately and on time. Clear every new hire to start
by ensuring background checks and all new-hire paperwork are complete before the start date. Keep hiring managers informed
with timely updates on the status of their new hires' onboarding. Support HR projects
that improve how onboarding and HR operations run. QUALIFICATIONS
0-2 years experience and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree; a degree in Human Resources is preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Experience with a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) is preferred.
Careful and accurate with detailed data, and able to handle confidential employee information discreetly. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Clear written and verbal communicator with strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Able to build healthy working relationships with people at all levels of the organization — including external staffing partners. Comfortable taking initiative, following through without close supervision, and managing several priorities at once in an environment with shifting demands.
