Job Description

GovCIO LLC seeks a Compute / Commvault Administrator to support federal clients in a modern, mission-critical IT environment. You will design, implement, and administer Commvault backup and recovery solutions for virtual and physical servers across on-prem and cloud platforms. Responsibilities include policy configuration, performance tuning, troubleshooting failures, executing DR tests, and ensuring data protection compliance. Collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and application teams to optimize storage, automate backup operations, and improve reliability for high-impact government systems.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and optimize Commvault backup and recovery for virtual and physical servers
  • Design and maintain backup policies, schedules, and retention strategies across on-prem and cloud
  • Monitor backup jobs, troubleshoot failures, and resolve performance and capacity issues
  • Support and execute disaster recovery testing and restoration for mission-critical systems
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and cybersecurity teams to ensure secure, compliant data protection
  • Automate routine backup and recovery tasks using scripts and tools
  • Document backup architectures, procedures, and recovery runbooks for federal environments
