Job Description
Ryder System is seeking a Manager Application Development & Support, Transformation & Modernization to lead critical logistics and transportation technology initiatives. In this role, you will oversee a team delivering modern, scalable applications that support end-to-end supply chain, warehousing, and fleet operations. You will own the roadmap for transforming legacy systems, implementing cloud and API-based solutions, and ensuring high availability and performance. Partner with operations, engineering, and business stakeholders to define requirements, manage vendors, and deliver secure, reliable platforms that improve efficiency, safety, and customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor application development and support teams focused on logistics and transportation systems
- Define and execute a modernization roadmap for legacy applications to cloud and API-first architectures
- Oversee end-to-end application lifecycle, including design, development, deployment, and support
- Implement and improve Dev
- Ops, CI/CD, monitoring, and incident management practices
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and prioritize initiatives
- Ensure application reliability, scalability, security, and regulatory compliance
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service-level agreements for application services
- Develop and manage project plans, budgets, and resource allocation for transformation initiatives
- Establish and track KPIs for system performance, uptime, and support responsiveness
- Drive continuous improvement, documentation, and knowledge sharing across teams
