The Role

• Operate specialized heavy equipment, such as hostlers, cranes, top loaders, and side loaders, to move shipping containers.
• Load and unload containers from railcars and trucks with precision and safety.
• Safely position containers and chassis within the intermodal yard using hostlers.
• Conduct thorough pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment to ensure functionality and safety.
• Coordinate with yard personnel and supervisors to facilitate efficient container movements.
• Maintain a safe working environment by strictly adhering to established protocols and procedures.

What You'll Need

• A valid driver's license is essential for this position.
• Demonstrated ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Strong commitment to safety and a keen attention to detail.
• Willingness to maintain open availability, including shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Basic communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
• Ability to perform tasks such as lifting up to 50lbs and climbing ladders and stairs on railcars.
