Role: Senior SAS Healthcare Business Analyst

Duration: 6 months (960 hours). with strong possibility to get extended long term.

Location: 100% Remote

Primary Skills: Business Analyst, SAS, ETL, Healthcare, MMIS and Medicaid is a plus.

DESCRIPTION and RESPONSIBILITIES:

SAS is seeking a full-time SAS Senior Business Analyst with strong Health Care domain experience to work with our Medicaid customers. The individual in this role will develop the Requirements Traceability Matrix, create technical documentation and assist with testing facilitation (QA and UAT) for healthcare analytics applications and reporting for our Medicaid customers.

Partner closely with members of the SAS team to perform the following:

• Solid standard business analysis skills including
• Requirements gathering and documentation
• ETL requirements for new data sources
• Report and analytics requirements
• Meeting facilitation
• Understanding business objectives
• Communication skills, both written and verbal
• Quick to catch on to new concepts, ability to “roll with the punches”
• Competent using Visio
• Prefer previous Jira experience
• Previous data warehouse experience, specifically focused on ETL
• Ability to accurately document ETL-based requirements
• Write Technical Design Documentation
• Basic understanding of ETL coding, with SAS being a plus
• Healthcare experience, preferably in the MMIS space 

QUALIFICATIONS – ESSENTIAL

A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field is required and equivalent work experience required.

Successful candidates will possess: 

The candidate must have experience with Healthcare Claims data and large databases.

• Health care industry domain experience, such as;
• Understanding of claim handling processes, concepts, and industry trends
• 7+ years of Business Analyst experience.
• Deep experience doing reporting with healthcare claims and eligibility data
• Knowledge of common acronyms associated with Medicaid and healthcare (FPL, MCO, HMO, managed care, etc)
• Good written and spoken communications skills in English and thought-leadership skills.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILTIES/ACTIVITIES:

Services may include focus on and require the Consultant to:

• Project experience with documentation of technical requirements in an RTM.
• Experience creating or updating technical documentation such as report specifications and design documents.
• Have good oral and written communication skills.
• Lead and/or actively participate in SAS knowledge-sharing activities.
• Demonstrate the ability to work with little direct supervision; Excellent troubleshooting skills; Imaginative, inquisitive, with a self-motivating personality and a strong work ethic; Customer focused demeanor.
• Ability to read SAS code is a plus.
