Job description

Our client has a contract opening for a Disaster Recovery Specialist (Enterprise Solutions) in Fairfax, VA. Rate is $80-85/hr on C2C, with some flexibility for the right consultant.

Role: Lead disaster recovery and business continuity efforts, including architecture for critical facilities such as 911 and backup sites. Assess current-state DR (RTO/RPO, plans, risks), define target-state architectures, and communicate technical risks and options to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead DR and business continuity initiatives for critical facilities
  • Assess current state (RTO/RPO, DR plans, risks) and define target-state DR architectures
  • Shape secure remote access and perimeter defense patterns with security and network teams
  • Improve Active Directory and identity architecture and define RACI for core services
  • Guide network segmentation and retirement of legacy network overlays
  • Improve observability across application, database, and infrastructure teams for early detection and faster recovery
  • Translate technical risks into clear language for the CIO and senior stakeholders
