Role Overview
Major Tech Firm is seeking a QA Engineer to support software and hardware validation for Windows-based consumer platforms. This is a hands-on, onsite role focused on manual testing, system validation, debugging, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure product quality and release readiness.Primarily manual testing with an emphasis on hardware troubleshooting and execution of established test procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute predefined manual and automated test cases on Windows-based platforms.
- Install BSP software packages, configure development boards, flash software builds, and prepare OEM devices for testing.
- Perform system-level and driver-level validation, including functional, stress, performance, and power testing.
- Log, track, and triage defects, collect diagnostic logs, and support root cause analysis.
- Configure and troubleshoot hardware using Ethernet/LAN connections.
- Work closely with engineering, BSP, OEM QA, and automation teams to resolve issues and support release readiness.
- Prepare test execution reports and communicate quality status to project stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- 5–8 years of QA or platform validation experience.
- Experience with Windows BSP testing, device validation, and QA methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with UEFI flashing, KDNET debugging, and bug triage.
- Familiarity with CI/CD environments, test automation tools, and QA processes.
- Knowledge of power states, hibernate, modern standby, and platform validation.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently after initial onboarding.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Intel, AMD, OEM, or similar hardware validation environments.
- Background in hardware/software integration testing and platform-level debugging.
- Knowledge of graphics, embedded systems, USB4, DisplayPort tunneling, or certification testing.
- Experience supporting large-scale product validation and release readiness initiatives.
