Title: Business Analyst

Location: Reston, VA

 
The strongest candidates will have a Business Analyst/business-facing background with hands-on UAT experience and mortgage domain knowledge. 
Required Skills
Experience as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, UAT Analyst, Functional Analyst, or business-focused tester
Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test planning, test scenario development, execution, and defect tracking
Ability to review business requirements, user stories, workflows, and acceptance criteria and translate them into meaningful business test scenarios
Experience working directly with business users, Product Owners, Business Analysts, SMEs, and technology teams
Experience validating business processes, business rules, and end-to-end workflows
Mortgage industry experience, preferably within loan origination, underwriting, borrower verification, or related lending processes
Experience preparing and managing business test scenarios and test data
Experience documenting and tracking defects using Jira or similar tools
Strong communication, analytical, and documentation skills
What You'll Do
Partner with business stakeholders to understand mortgage processes, requirements, workflows, and expected business outcomes
Help develop UAT test plans, business scenarios, test cases, and expected results
Execute Business UAT to confirm that applications meet business requirements and support expected user workflows
Validate borrower and loan-related processes, including areas such as income, employment, credit, identity, underwriting, and loan origination
Validate business rules and identify gaps between expected business behavior and actual system behavior
Prepare realistic borrower/loan scenarios and test data needed for UAT
Document defects clearly in Jira and work with business and technology teams through resolution and retesting
Participate in requirements discussions, story refinement, defect reviews, and UAT status meetings
Provide clear testing results, risks, and issues to business stakeholders and project teams
Support successful business sign-off and release readiness
