Laptop Imaging Technician - onsite

Description
We are looking for a hands-on Laptop Imaging Technician to support high-volume device preparation and deployment efforts in Downers Grove, Illinois. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who thrives in an onsite environment, enjoys working with Windows hardware, and takes pride in delivering accurately configured laptops ready for end users. The role combines imaging, setup, quality verification, troubleshooting, and asset handling in a fast-moving technical workspace.

Responsibilities

Prepare and deploy large batches of Windows laptops by initiating imaging processes and applying required build standards. Complete initial device setup tasks, including software installation, system configuration, and readiness checks before distribution. Support laptop lifecycle projects by exchanging older equipment, assisting with user device transitions, and helping coordinate data transfer activities. Inspect completed builds to confirm each machine meets quality expectations and is fully functional prior to release.

Diagnose imaging and boot-related issues, record outcomes clearly, and escalate unresolved technical problems when appropriate. Maintain accurate records in ticketing and asset tracking systems to ensure reliable documentation of device status and movement. Sanitize retired hardware, package returned equipment, and coordinate shipment or handoff to leasing partners and repair providers. Organize and move equipment across imaging stations and bench areas while managing a high-volume workload efficiently and safely.

Arrange repair activity with external hardware vendors and track devices through return and service processes. Requirements
Experience supporting Windows laptop imaging, desktop deployment, or related device configuration work in a technical environment. Ability to troubleshoot hardware, imaging, and operating system issues with a methodical and detail-focused approach. Comfortable working fully onsite in Downers Grove, Illinois, in a fast-paced setting with consistent hands-on responsibilities. Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and moving equipment between work areas throughout the day.

Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and support partners. Accurate typing and documentation skills for updating tickets, asset records, and technical notes. High level of attention to detail with the ability to follow established processes and quality standards. Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft desktop administration credentials are preferred. Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.
