Wire EDM Operator

Our client in Irwin PA is seeking a 1st shift Wire EDM operator to join the team. Hours will be from 6am - 230PM M-F Duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Gain proficiency in operating hole pop machines.
• Adjust and align wire as needed.
• Analyze and comprehend technical drawings.
• Conduct visual inspections of incoming parts prior to wire EDM processing.
• Generate job files, examine run sheets, and geometry files.
• Prepare parts for machine operation by indicating, picking up, and positioning them.
• Execute machine operations efficiently.
• Conduct in-process inspections during the execution of work orders.
• Perform final inspections of parts once completed on the wire machine.
• Undertake machine maintenance, including routine upkeep and cleaning.
• Ensure cleanliness in the Wire EDM area by wiping tables and machines, and sweeping and mopping floors.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Preference for candidates with experience in Wire EDM.
• A technical school certificate in machine trades is desirable.
• Alternatively, a combination of education and experience that meets the requirements.
• Proficiency in operating and interpreting results from measuring tools, gages, and visual standards.
• Capability to perform minor tooling changes, set up, and troubleshoot production equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical prints and drawings.
• Responsibility for maintaining product and process quality standards.
• Strong math and mechanical skills.
• Willingness to learn and enhance the manufacturing process.
