Job Description A growing organization focused on enterprise technology, digital resilience, and cybersecurity operations is seeking a Junior Threat Detection Analyst to join its security team. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are passionate about cybersecurity and eager to gain hands-on experience investigating security alerts, analyzing suspicious activity, and helping protect critical business systems.
As a member of the operations team, you'll work in a fast-paced environment responsible for identifying potential threats, validating security events, and supporting incident response efforts. You'll collaborate with experienced cybersecurity professionals while building exposure to enterprise security tools, network monitoring platforms, and real-world cyber defense operations.

- U.S. Citizenship required
- Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Science, or a related technical discipline
- Active CompTIA Security+ certification
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and security operations concepts
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and common protocols
- Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux operating systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to interpret technical information and make sound decisions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work within established procedures and workflows
- Experience with Splunk or other SIEM platforms
- Exposure to security event monitoring and alert triage
- Familiarity with packet capture and analysis tools such as Wireshark or tcpdump
- Understanding of IDS/IPS technologies
- Experience reviewing firewall, endpoint, or system logs
- Knowledge of endpoint security solutions such as Carbon Black, Tanium, McAfee, Symantec, or similar technologies
- Additional certifications including Network+, CySA+, CEH, GSEC, GCIH, AWS, Azure, or related cybersecurity credentials
- Cybersecurity internship, home lab, Capture-the-Flag (CTF), military cyber, or hands-on project experience
- Monitor and investigate security alerts generated across enterprise infrastructure
- Analyze activity originating from networks, endpoints, servers, firewalls, and security technologies
- Identify suspicious behavior and determine appropriate actions using established response procedures
- Escalate potential security incidents to senior analysts and response teams
- Perform log analysis to identify anomalies, indicators of compromise, and emerging threats
- Document investigations and maintain accurate case records
- Collaborate with cybersecurity and IT teams to support security operations initiatives
- Assist with continuous improvement of monitoring processes, playbooks, and operational procedures
