Security Systems Engineer with Security Clearance

Overview Our client, a leading defense systems company, is seeking two System Security Engineers to join an embedded development program in Scottsdale. The program builds on an existing architecture while adding new features and components. You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with a team of about 35-40 systems, software, mechanical, and FPGA engineers, and the team is growing.

Responsibilities Decompose system requirements into subsystem and component-level requirements in an embedded environment
Drive system architecture and design with a security-first perspective
Ensure designs incorporate the features needed for NSA certification of embedded crypto applications
Develop and maintain NSA certification documentation and support the certification process
Interface daily with software, FPGA, and mechanical engineering teams
Support requirements traceability, design reviews, and verification planning
Contribute to a program moving from development toward fielding
Required Qualifications Active U.S.

Secret clearance (all work is classified at the Secret level)
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
Experience with systems engineering and requirements decomposition for embedded systems
Hands-on experience with the NSA crypto certification process and its documentation
Strong understanding of security architecture and design for embedded products
Ability to work on-site in Scottsdale, AZ
Preferred Qualifications Prior experience on a program transitioning from development to the field
Experience with Type 1 or NSA-certified crypto products
Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity and information assurance requirements
Self-starter who works well with limited direction
