Oil and Gas Origination Banker - Carr Lyons

Our client, a leading European bank with a well-established Corporate & Investment Banking franchise in London, is looking to strengthen its Energy coverage team with the appointment of an Oil & Gas Origination Banker. This is a client-facing origination role covering upstream, midstream, downstream and energy transition-adjacent corporates, working closely with Debt Capital Markets, Leveraged Finance, Project Finance and Transaction Banking product partners to deliver the full balance sheet to the bank's Oil & Gas client base.

This is a rare opportunity to join a bank with genuine European wholesale strength and a growing ambition in natural resources and energy, and to help shape the build-out of the coverage franchise from a senior, high-visibility seat.

Responsibilities:

1. Originate and manage a portfolio of Oil & Gas corporate and NOC/IOC relationships across EMEA, acting as lead relationship banker for a defined client list.
2. Identify and structure financing opportunities across the balance sheet - RCFs, bilateral and syndicated lending, DCM, leveraged and project finance - in partnership with product specialists.
3. Lead origination for ancillary and cross-sell business, including transaction banking, hedging, trade and treasury solutions.
4. Prepare and present client pitches, credit papers and internal approval materials, working closely with credit risk, legal and compliance stakeholders.
5. Build and maintain a strong network across the Oil & Gas sector, including corporates, sponsors, advisers and law firms, to support the bank's origination pipeline.
6. Contribute to the strategic development of the Energy coverage franchise, including sector positioning, target client mapping and new business initiatives.
