Senior Domain Engineer - Deployment Lead

Role: Senior Domain Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Technical Lead with strong expertise in software architecture, application development, system integration, testing, and production support. The ideal candidate will lead complex technical workstreams supporting Advanced Meter Infrastructure Replacement (AMIR), inventory tracking, workforce management, and routing/deployment systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Co-lead with the System Integrator Lead to define complex technical software requirements, solution designs, testing strategies, and cutover plans supporting:
  • Communication module inventory tracking
  • Workforce management
  • Routing and deployment systems
• Manage AMIR and System Integrator vendors to develop project schedules, define deliverables, ensure software quality, and achieve established milestones and objectives.
• Lead cross-functional teams through end-to-end testing, ensuring successful validation and readiness of inventory tracking and deployment systems.
• Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues, leading investigations and implementing permanent solutions.
• Research emerging application development products, programming languages, technologies, and standards to support procurement, development, and maintenance initiatives.
• Develop robust backend logic, optimize frontend performance, and ensure seamless system integrations.
• Ensure high levels of ongoing system and application performance in production environments.
• Design, execute, and monitor software performance tests on new and existing applications to identify errors, isolate areas for improvement, and support debugging.
• Apply appropriate Agile methodologies, SDLC processes, development tools, and technologies to manage software development activities.
• Ensure user satisfaction through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely resolution of complex technical issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

• 4-year degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Experience

• Required: 8+ years of related experience.
• Preferred: 4+ years of experience leading complex software implementations involving cross-functional teams, external vendors, and downstream applications.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to anticipate downstream impacts of design and implementation decisions.
• Strong ability to communicate technical design decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to evaluate tradeoffs among performance, security, usability, and maintainability.
• Strong knowledge of advanced application architectures supporting scalability and maintainability.
• Knowledge of software testing, deployment, and release practices for production systems.
• Strong skills in designing reusable components and shared services.
• Ability to lead complex development features and technical workstreams.
• Preferred experience with:

• Strong knowledge of SDLC, scalable application architectures, reusable component design, and DevOps practices.
