Job Description

Lead Engineer, Software Systems Engineering
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Contract: 12+ Month
Job Description:
Client a Corporate Systems Manager to lead the team that powers the internal business platforms our employees rely on every day, spanning finance, HR, sales, operations, collaboration, and identity. This leader will drive automation and integration across our corporate application portfolio and play a key role in modernizing how we onboard, provision, and manage access for employees and contractors. The ideal candidate combines hands-on technical depth with strong leadership, and thrives in a highly regulated banking environment where reliability, security, and auditability matter.
Key Responsibilities
Automation, Integration & Modernization
  •  Lead the replatforming of an in-house automation platform that orchestrates the end-to-end employee and contractor lifecycle (joiner, mover, leaver), connecting HR onboarding, access governance, application provisioning, and device provisioning into a scalable, auditable, and maintainable solution.
  •  Define the target-state architecture for identity lifecycle automation in partnership with HR, Access Governance, Information Security, and End User Computing, including build-versus-buy evaluation, migration planning, and decommissioning of legacy components.
  • Champion an automation-first approach across corporate systems, identifying manual processes and replacing them with workflow-driven, self-service, and event-based solutions.
  • Design and oversee advanced workflows and automation within service management platforms such as Jira Service Management, including request fulfillment, approval routing, SLA management, and integrations with downstream systems.
  •  Oversee enterprise integrations across HR, identity governance, GRC, CRM, and service management platforms using APIs, webhooks, and integration or orchestration platforms, ensuring they are monitored, documented, and resilient.
  • Manage single sign-on and modern authentication (SAML/OIDC) configurations for corporate applications in partnership with Information Security and application owners.
Platform Ownership & Business Partnership
  • Own the strategy, roadmap, and health of a broad corporate application portfolio, including collaboration and service management platforms, CRM, ERP and financial systems, identity and access tools, and line-of-business applications.
  •  Serve as the accountable owner for core platforms such as enterprise service management, collaboration, and CRM environments, including administration, configuration, sandbox management, backups, and release governance.
  • Act as the technical partner to business owners of finance, planning, operations, and facilities systems, translating their requests into solutions while ensuring changes follow approved request and sign-off workflows.
  •  Manage vendor relationships, licensing, renewals, and support escalations, and oversee budget for the corporate application portfolio.
  •   Coordinate infrastructure maintenance for on-premise corporate systems, including patching and upgrade cycles, with minimal business disruption.
Leadership, Governance & Controls
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of systems administrators, Salesforce specialists, and integration engineers, including hiring, performance management, workload prioritization, and collaboration with distributed and offshore team members.
  • Maintain and enforce change management, access review, segregation of duties, and audit evidence practices that support SOX, GLBA, and other regulatory and internal control requirements.
  •  Maintain clear ownership models (e.g., RACI), documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base content for all supported systems.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  •  7+ years of experience administering, implementing, or supporting enterprise business applications, including 3+ years in a people leadership role.
  •  Hands-on experience across a range of corporate platforms. Experience with tools such as Atlassian (Jira Service Management, Confluence), Salesforce, Oracle E-Business Suite, Workday, SailPoint, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), and Microsoft 365 is highly valued, though comparable experience with similar enterprise technologies is equally welcome.
  •  Demonstrated experience designing and delivering automation and integration solutions, including workflow automation in platforms such as Jira Service Management or ServiceNow, and integration tools such as Workato, MuleSoft, Boomi, Power Automate, or comparable technologies.
  • Experience with identity lifecycle management, including HR-driven provisioning, role-based access, access certifications, and deprovisioning, using tools such as SailPoint, Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, or similar platforms.
  • Track record of leading a platform migration, replatforming, or modernization effort from discovery through cutover.
  • Solid understanding of system integrations, including APIs, middleware or iPaaS, and file-based interfaces, as well as SSO, SAML, and OIDC.
  • Experience operating within a regulated environment with SOX or similar internal control and audit requirements.
  • Proven ability to balance competing priorities across many business stakeholders while maintaining strong service levels.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted partnerships with technical and non-technical audiences alike.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in banking, fintech, or payments.
  • Familiarity with endpoint and device management platforms such as Microsoft Intune, Jamf, or comparable tools, and their role in automated onboarding.
  • Scripting or development experience (e.g., Python, PowerShell, C#, or JavaScript) sufficient to guide technical design and review the team's work.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting and planning tools (e.g., SplashBI, Adaptive Planning) or similar solutions.
  • Experience with low-code platforms such as Microsoft Power Apps or comparable tools.
  • Background managing multi-org Salesforce environments and CRM data backup solutions.
  • ITIL knowledge or certification; PMP, Atlassian, Salesforce, or other relevant platform certifications.
