What would you do?

Role: Jenkins Migration Lead

Location: McLean, VA (5 Days Onsite)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Jenkins Migration Led to drive end-to-end migration initiatives from CloudBees Jenkins to Open-Source Jenkins. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining migration strategy, target architecture, governance, and best practices while ensuring a secure, scalable, and efficient CI/CD transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end migration strategy, architecture, and governance for transitioning from CloudBees Jenkins to Open-Source Jenkins.
  • Conduct current-state assessments of existing Jenkins and DevOps environments.
  • Design target-state CI/CD architecture with a focus on high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery.
  • Drive migration of Jenkins environments, source code repositories, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Modernize legacy pipelines by implementing Pipeline as Code and DevOps best practices.
  • Design and implement secure, scalable, and cost-effective CI/CD solutions.
  • Automate migration activities using scripting and DevOps tools to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Support and optimize containerized build agents and Kubernetes-based environments.
  • Ensure security, compliance, and data integrity throughout the migration lifecycle.
  • Provide recommendations for CI/CD modernization, optimization, and operational efficiency.
  • Create and maintain migration documentation, architecture diagrams, and best-practice guidelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with Jenkins (Core and Plugins) and CloudBees Jenkins.
  • Expertise in CI/CD architecture, pipeline design, and enterprise DevOps practices.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and containerized build agents.
  • Proficiency in scripting and configuration languages such as Groovy, Python, YAML, and JSON.
  • Strong experience implementing and managing Pipeline as Code.
  • Experience automating CI/CD workflows and migration activities.
  • Solid understanding of DevOps tools, integrations, and CI/CD ecosystem best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading large-scale Jenkins migration or CI/CD transformation projects.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms and modern DevOps practices.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools.
