Job Title: AWS Security Engineer – Application Development

Location: Irvine, CA – Local Candidates Only (Onsite 4–5 Days/Week)
Duration: 12 Months Contract
Rate: Up to $60/hr C2C
Experience: 13+ Years
Start Date: ASAP (Target: October 26)

Key Requirements

Strong hands-on experience in AWS Security: IAM, GuardDuty, Security Hub, CloudTrail, KMS, Secrets Manager, VPC, and S3 security.
Application security and programming skills in Python, Go, or similar languages.
Expertise in DevSecOps, Terraform/CloudFormation/CDK, CI/CD security, and automated security scanning.
Experience with OWASP, API security, threat modeling, vulnerability remediation, and container security.
Knowledge of AWS Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, CSPM, SIEM integration, and cloud incident response.
Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with application development teams.

Important: This is a hands-on engineering role, not a SOC or compliance-only position. Candidates must be local to Irvine/Orange County, work onsite Monday–Thursday, and be flexible for Friday onsite work when required.

Preferred: AWS Security Specialty, OSCP/CKS, and SOC 2/ISO 27001 experience.
