Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer / Production Support Engineer to support the Mortgage Capital Markets (MCM) team within the Fixed Income US business group in Dallas. The ideal candidate will have strong backend development experience, expertise in complex system integrations, and hands-on experience supporting production environments.

This role focuses on integration between upstream and downstream systems, software development, production support, deployment, and building scalable backend applications. The candidate will collaborate closely with IT managers, developers, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver reliable technology solutions.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in Mortgage Capital Markets (MCM) and commercial real estate finance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain large-scale applications with complex system integrations.
• Develop and maintain backend applications using Java and/or Python.
• Develop and consume RESTful Web Services and APIs.
• Support production issues, troubleshoot application problems, and perform root cause analysis.
• Participate in application deployments and release management.
• Build and maintain backend systems and user interface components.
• Work with messaging technologies, monitoring tools, and enterprise integration platforms.
• Collaborate with IT senior managers, developers, and business teams to gather and analyze requirements.
• Work with databases and large datasets, including writing and executing SQL scripts.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and build automation.
• Develop and maintain automated tests, SRE monitoring, and synthetic monitoring solutions.
• Participate in Agile development practices, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining large-scale applications with complex integrations.
• Strong hands-on experience with modern programming languages, including Java and/or Python.
• Experience developing and consuming Web Services and APIs.
• 4+ years of experience with data technologies and databases, including one or more of the following:
  • PostgreSQL
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Oracle
  • Apache NiFi
  • Apache Kafka
  • Elasticsearch
• Strong SQL skills, including writing, reading, and executing SQL scripts against large datasets.
• 2+ years of experience with frontend technologies such as Angular, React, and JavaScript.
• 3+ years of experience with CI/CD and build automation tools, including:
  • Maven
  • Gradle
  • Jenkins
• 3+ years of experience working with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience working with Kubernetes.
• 3+ years of experience with test automation, including SRE monitoring and synthetic monitoring.
• Strong production support and troubleshooting experience.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Previous experience working in Mortgage Capital Markets (MCM).
• Knowledge of commercial real estate finance.
• Experience with job scheduling and orchestration tools, such as:
  • CRON
  • Tidal
  • Apache Airflow
• Experience with application and infrastructure monitoring tools, particularly Dynatrace.
• Experience with performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident analysis.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Strong understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD).
