The Senior Software Engineer - Camunda BPM & Workflow Automation is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting business process automation solutions that modernize and streamline Workplace Investing operations. This role combines deep expertise in workflow orchestration, business process modeling, and software engineering to deliver scalable, cloud-ready solutions. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with strong Camunda and Java development experience who enjoys solving complex business problems through automation.
The Role
This Senior Software Engineer role is focused on building and supporting business process automation and workflow solutions using Camunda BPM, Java, and Spring Boot. The engineer will design BPMN workflows, build REST APIs and backend services, integrate enterprise applications, and help modernize legacy operational processes into scalable, cloud-ready solutions. The position requires strong hands-on development, troubleshooting, SQL, CI/CD, and full SDLC experience.
Candidates should have 5+ years of software development experience with strong Java/JavaScript skills and significant hands-on Camunda development experience, including building new workflow solutions from scratch. Strong BPM experience, REST API development, SQL querying, and the ability to communicate with both business partners and engineers are essential. GitHub and financial services experience are nice to have.
Must Have:
Working with Camunda 5+ years of new development experience
BPM Experience - working with business partners, engineers to communicate at a high level.
Javascript/Java
Building rest API’s - from scratch at a high level
SQL - Able to query
CI/CD – familiar with Dev process
