Banner Business Analyst Location: Remote Contract: 6+ Month W2 only
Banner Expertise

Strong hands-on knowledge of Ellucian Banner
Experience across key Banner modules, particularly:
- Student
- Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Financial Aid
Understands how Banner supports higher education business processes

Core BA Responsibilities

Leads and facilitates meetings with business and technical stakeholders
Knows how to run an effective requirements-gathering session, not just participate in one
Creates the full range of BA artifacts, including:
- Business and functional requirements
- Process flows
- User stories and acceptance criteria
- Current-state / future-state documentation
- Gap analyses
- Meeting notes, decisions, and action items
Translates business needs into clear requirements for technical teams

Additional Technology Knowledge

Familiarity with Canvas LMS
Understanding of Ellucian Ethos and how it supports integrations/data exchange across higher education systems

Leadership / Next-Level Skills

Able to mentor more junior Business Analysts
Can establish BA best practices and improve the team's processes
Comfortable working independently with stakeholders
Strong enough in Banner to challenge requirements, identify gaps, and recommend solutions rather than simply documenting what stakeholders request
