Job Description

Project Manager

We're looking for a driven Project Manager to lead the successful execution of automation projects from start to finish. In this role, you'll be the bridge between our customers and internal teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with customer expectations. Leveraging your organizational and leadership skills, you'll manage scope, schedule, and resources while fostering collaboration across departments. Some international travel is required, meeting with industry leaders. This is a fully onsite role. An engineering background is required, since you'll be working directly with highly technical design information that Mechanical Designers typically don't discuss with customers themselves.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the customer relationship directly - Mechanical Designers typically don't interface with customers themselves
  • Participate in and contribute to customer design reviews, understanding engineering hardware and technical design information well enough to speak to it directly
  • Manage and execute project deadlines, contractual requirements, scope of work, and equipment delivery
  • Lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) by executing test plans, managing customer expectations, securing sign-off, and generating FAT reports
  • Drive critical success factors with key stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and within agreed scope, time, and quality
  • Manage and reconcile project capacity and milestones through close collaboration with engineering, production, and service departments
  • Identify issues that may impede progress and implement corrective actions or escalate as needed
  • Communicate project progress clearly to both internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management experience in automation, packaging equipment, or custom machine building environments
  • Engineering background required; Mechanical Engineering is preferred, though Electrical Engineering will be considered if paired with significant mechanical knowledge
  • Strong project leadership experience and a solid technical foundation in automation
  • Available for up to approximately 25% travel, including international
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects while effectively prioritizing tasks
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English
  • Proven track record of improving performance, meeting commitments, and achieving results
  • Ability to travel internationally when required
  • Prior design experience , followed by a transition into applications engineering, project management, or sales engineering is preferred

Type: Full-time

Travel: Up to approximately 25%, including international travel

Location: Concord, Ontario, Canada (100% onsite, at least for the first year)

Salary Range: $100,000–$140,000 (DOE) CAD

No 3rd party agencies or C2C
