Certified Cloud Engineer (Only local to Wisconsin and W2 candidate )

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Certified Cloud Engineer to design, implement, secure, support, and maintain the organization's hybrid cloud environment across platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.

The Cloud Engineer will work closely with vendors, application development teams, architects, security teams, and internal IT staff throughout the design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and production implementation lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with cloud infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), DevOps, CI/CD, containerization, automation, networking, security, monitoring, and .NET application environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, configure, support, and maintain hybrid cloud platforms across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and related technologies.
• Provide technical oversight of cloud infrastructure, including networking, compute, storage, databases, security, monitoring, logging, and automation.
• Review and validate vendor-proposed cloud architectures, configurations, and implementation plans.
• Identify infrastructure, security, performance, scalability, reliability, and operational risks.
• Work closely with .NET development teams to support application deployment, integration, configuration, and environment management.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and repeatable cloud deployment automation.
• Support application containerization and cloud-native deployment models.
• Develop scripts and automation to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual processes.
• Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure and application issues.
• Optimize cloud environments for performance, scalability, availability, security, and cost efficiency.
• Implement cloud security controls including IAM, least privilege, encryption, network security, vulnerability management, logging, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Ensure cloud solutions align with applicable State and Federal regulations and security standards, including NIST and IRS Publication 1075, where applicable.
• Establish operational procedures for monitoring, incident response, maintenance, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation covering cloud architecture, configurations, dependencies, operational procedures, and support requirements.
• Participate in vendor design and development discussions and provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Transition cloud solutions from implementation into long-term operational support.
• Evaluate new cloud services, technologies, and marketplace solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve cloud security, reliability, scalability, performance, and cost.
• Provide knowledge transfer, mentoring, documentation, and hands-on training to internal IT staff.

Required Technical Skills

• Hybrid Cloud: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or comparable cloud platforms.
• Cloud Architecture: IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, networking, compute, storage, databases, security, scalability, and high availability.
• DevOps: CI/CD, deployment automation, configuration management, and DevSecOps.
• Infrastructure as Code: Strong hands-on experience with IaC tools and automated infrastructure provisioning.
• Containers: Experience with application containerization and container-based deployments.
• CI/CD: Strong experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, particularly with GitHub/GitHub Actions.
• Programming/Scripting: Ability to develop scripts and automation and troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
• .NET: Strong understanding of Windows and .NET application environments.
• Security: IAM, encryption, network security, vulnerability management, logging, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Observability: Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational visibility.
• Cloud Cost Management: Experience optimizing cloud infrastructure for cost efficiency.
