Project Manager
Rapid Deployment Infrastructure & Operations
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead large-scale, rapid deployment infrastructure and life-support operations in dynamic environments throughout the United States and internationally. This role is responsible for overseeing the full project lifecycle, including mobilization, site development, operational sustainment, and demobilization.
The successful candidate will serve as the senior on-site leader, managing project execution, budgets, schedules, subcontractors, technical resources, and client relationships while ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations in demanding field environments.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution
- Lead end-to-end project delivery from planning through completion.
- Manage schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and project reporting.
- Direct installation and operation of temporary infrastructure and support systems.
- Identify and mitigate project risks while maintaining operational continuity.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Infrastructure & Site Operations
- Oversee deployment and operation of:
- Temporary power generation and distribution systems
- HVAC and environmental control systems
- Water purification and distribution systems
- Sanitation and waste management systems
- Commercial kitchens and food service facilities
- Refrigeration units and cold-storage systems
- Temporary shelters and support facilities
- Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and technical support activities.
Resource & Financial Management
- Develop and manage project budgets and forecasts.
- Oversee procurement, logistics, equipment readiness, and material flow.
- Manage subcontractors, vendors, and field resources.
- Monitor project performance metrics and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Team Leadership
- Lead multidisciplinary teams, field personnel, and subcontractors.
- Establish clear expectations and performance standards.
- Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence.
- Conduct daily operational briefings and workforce planning activities.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary field contact for clients, agencies, and key stakeholders.
- Provide regular project updates, status reports, and operational briefings.
- Build strong relationships that support successful project delivery.
- Ensure contractual requirements and customer expectations are met or exceeded.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Conduct safety audits, hazard assessments, and operational reviews.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and industry best practices.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting.
Qualifications
Required
- 12+ years of experience in project management, field operations, construction, logistics, military operations, emergency response, or related industries.
- Experience managing large-scale field-based projects and remote operations.
- Strong knowledge of temporary infrastructure systems, including power, HVAC, water, sanitation, shelters, and support facilities.
- Demonstrated success leading teams in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and resource planning.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management platforms such as MS Project, Procore, or Smartsheet.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet background screening requirements.
- Ability to travel extensively and support long-term field deployments.
- Valid passport or ability to obtain one.
Preferred
- Experience supporting government, defense, disaster response, humanitarian, or contingency operations.
- Knowledge of contract management and procurement processes.
- Bilingual Spanish.
- Military leadership experience.
- OSHA, FEMA, NIMS, CDL, HAZMAT, equipment operation, or related certifications.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Logistics, Emergency Management, or a related field.
Work Environment
- Extensive domestic and international travel.
- Deployment to remote, austere, or disaster-impacted locations.
- Extended assignments with rotating day and night schedules.
- Outdoor work in varying environmental conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform field-based activities.
