Position Type: Part-Time / On-Call only 

The training will accommodate up to 30 people.

Note: This is not a permanent position. As per the client’s requirements, the trainer will be engaged on an on-call or contract basis and will need to be onsite in Houston, TX to conduct Power BI training sessions. The schedule and training dates will be based on the client’s requirements.

Scope of Services:

Power BI is the most commonly used tool within the Informatics Program for building dashboards and visualizations. Training additional staff in advanced Power BI functions will help ensure the program stays current with modern data tools and practices, benefiting customers through improved analytical capabilities. Learning automation techniques will also reduce manual work, increasing workforce efficiency and productivity. The workshop will be held between November 2–13, 2026.

The Purpose of the Workshop:

The purpose of the workshop is to teach Informatics staff advanced Power BI activities including but not limited to:

• Get started with Copilot in Power BI

• Get data in Power BI with a focus on non-local sources such as Snowflake, SharePoint, SQL, and Azure

• Clean, transform, and load data in Power BI

• Choose a Power BI model framework

• Configure a semantic model

• Write DAX formulas for semantic models

• Modify DAX filter context in semantic models

• Use DAX time intelligence functions in semantic models

• Create visual calculations in Power BI Desktop

• Optimize a model for performance in Power BI

• Design Power BI reports

• Enhance Power BI reports for user experience

• Perform analytics in Power BI with a focus on geospatial analysis and integrating statistical tests besides standard deviations

• Manage workspaces in Power BI Service

• Automate dashboards in Power BI

• Integration with Python and local AI tools

• API

Trainer will:

• Provide training materials including PowerPoint presentations, videos, handouts, etc.

• Provide a trainer to teach approximately 30 staff members from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

• Must share a portfolio and training materials along with the resume
