IT Support Specialist 3 – IT Trainer
Client: State of Georgia – Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT)
Location: Georgia | Hybrid/Onsite as required
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week

Payrate: $30.10/hr on W2

Job Summary

The State of Georgia is seeking an IT Trainer to provide technical training to GDOT employees on various custom and commercial IT applications. The candidate will conduct both in-person and virtual training, develop training materials, manage course enrollments and records, and collaborate with IT and business teams to identify training needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver instructor-led, virtual, webinar, and onsite training for GDOT IT applications.
• Travel within Georgia to conduct scheduled in-person training classes.
• Develop and maintain training materials, including PowerPoint presentations, user guides, manuals, quick-reference guides, storyboards, and videos.
• Manage course schedules, learner enrollments, attendance, testing, grades, certifications, and training records through an LMS.
• Work with GDOT business units and IT teams to identify training needs and application knowledge gaps.
• Conduct learner surveys and use feedback to improve training content and delivery.
• Support IT projects, user acceptance testing, application rollouts, and ongoing production support.
• Maintain accurate timekeeping, activity records, performance indicators, and travel documentation.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Office/Office 365 applications.
• 4+ years of IT technical training, computer technology, IT applications/systems, or end-user support experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Teaching, IT, or a related field, OR Associate degree with 2 years of IT experience, OR IT certifications with 4 years of IT experience.
• 5+ years of excellent verbal/written communication, presentation, and teaching skills.
• Ability and flexibility to travel throughout Georgia for onsite training.

Highly Desired Skills

• 4+ years developing role-based end-user training content for IT applications/systems.
• 2+ years of experience with instructional design, visual design, storyboarding, and instructional/audio/video scripts.
• Experience with Adobe Captivate, TechSmith Camtasia, and Articulate 360/Storyline.
• Experience with Microsoft Teams and maintaining training records in an LMS.
• Experience with Oracle LMS or Cornerstone LMS.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow.

Other Requirements

• Local Georgia candidates preferred.
• Must be able to work a hybrid schedule and attend onsite training as required.
• Must have a valid driver's license and personal vehicle for business travel.
• Must be comfortable traveling to GDOT District and Area Offices.
