Collections Specialist – Industrial/Manufacturing | Long Island, NY | Onsite

Location: Long Island, NY (Local candidates only) Employment Type: Full‑time, Onsite Industry: Industrial / Manufacturing Experience Required: 3–5 years high‑volume B2B collections (500+ accounts)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Collections Specialist with proven experience in industrial or manufacturing collections. This role is responsible for managing a large portfolio of accounts, driving timely payments, resolving billing discrepancies, and supporting overall accounts receivable performance. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong tenure, professionalism, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, goal‑driven environment.

Candidates must be local to Long Island. Applicants from Brooklyn, Queens, or other distant locations will not be considered due to commute constraints.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor assigned accounts daily and identify outstanding receivables
• Conduct collection calls and follow‑up correspondence to ensure timely payments
• Reduce delinquency across a portfolio of up to 1500 accounts
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies, short payments, and account issues
• Support cash application activities and review customer remittances
• Process credit card and e‑check payments and refunds
• Collaborate with sales and senior management to accelerate collection efforts
• Maintain accurate documentation and account notes within company systems
• Prepare and present reports on collection status and progress
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years of high‑volume B2B collections experience (500+ accounts)
• Industrial / Manufacturing collections experience is mandatory
• Strong communication, negotiation, and customer‑service skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
• Solid problem‑solving and analytical abilities
• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
• Experience with CMS/RMS, InfoPro, or Soft‑Pak
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel

Candidate Requirements

• Must be local to Long Island
• Must have consistent work history (no job hopping or extended gaps)
• Must have industry‑specific collections experience — other industries will not be considered
