Job Description

About the Role 

Tecknomic is hiring a Project Engineer to support a leading automotive manufacturer''s capital equipment and facility projects at its Georgetown, KY operation. You will drive projects from feasibility and scope through installation and commissioning, working across skilled trades, engineering, and equipment manufacturers in green-field and brown-field environments. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Investigate project feasibility, scope, schedule, and budget. 

  • Create scope of work, bid packages, and project specifications. 

  • Review technical drawings, provide feedback, and negotiate changes. 

  • Evaluate safety compliance to local and national codes. 

  • Collaborate with third-party safety compliance contractors. 

  • Coordinate with multiple groups to design and install equipment and meet project milestones. 

  • Supervise contractors in green-field and brown-field work environments. 

  • Coordinate installation with skilled trades, affiliate companies, engineers, and equipment manufacturers. 

  • Develop countermeasures for project delays to keep work on schedule. 

 

Required Qualifications 

  • BS in Engineering, technical trade certification, or equivalent experience. 

  • 3+ years in a manufacturing environment. 

  • 3+ years of project management experience. 

  • 2+ years of technical drawing review experience. 

  • Bid spec development and contractor negotiation experience. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • OSHA 10 / 30. 

  • Automotive paint process experience. 

  • Ability to understand and calculate utility cost. 

  • Project management experience within automotive manufacturing.
