Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid) – Need local only

Rate: $/hr. W2

Duration: 12+ month contract

Visa: Independent Only

Notes: 4 days a week onsite in Boston, MA. (Only Local)

Job description:

IT IS A DATA MANAGEMENT LEAD or DATA GOVERNANCE MANAGER with great SQL/tech These are paid higher than a data analyst in my experience.

It's an AI/data modernization effort — centralized data office, and this will be the first hire on the data management team. it's big stuff! 

They want someone to lead data governance initiatives, catalog management, metadata standards, data lineage, and data quality. 

While partnering with analytics/business/AI/ML teams. ITS MORE DATA GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT - not a true-blue data analyst. 

 THE JOB:

Supporting the design & implementation of data governance operations aligned to an AI/ML-first data strategy.

This includes informing, influencing, obtaining buy-in from company on the importance of data governance/AI ML objectives. 

Policies, standards, metrics, tools development for data inventory documentation, permissions, lineage, and quality for downstream enterprise development.

Driving adoption and engagement (across stakeholders including legal, audit/risk, infosec)

 Priorities:

assessing usability of internal catalogs for data on the platform/other sources. 

making data governance updates within catalog. ownership, certification, lifecycle alignment with enterprise standards.

develop & implement metadata and catalog governance standards (defining, creating templates, validating processes to ensure consistency across reporting, dashboards, other analytics assets). 

This will include training & enablement, communication materials to support metadata & catalog usage/adoption. 

addressing data leakage between insurance ops and data stores

cross-functional collaboration across data office, analytics, and IT teams

 Requirements:

-Relevant experience with the data governance & data management described above (5+ years)

-AI/ML data support

-MLOps knowledge, modeling, deploying pipelines, AWS services

-Python

-SQL

-STRONG PREFERENCE (essentially a requirement for this client) for Property & Casualty Insurance — need working familiarity of insurance underwriting operations/platforms.
